Dear Parents/Carers,

The Annual University of New South Wales competitions will be held during Term 3 and it is now time to enter. ICAS in an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in several areas. Students in Years 3-6 can enter the following competitions - Digital Technologies, Science, Mathematics, Writing, Spelling Bee and English.

Entry to these competitions is voluntary. Certificates are awarded to competitors according to their level of achievement and include Participation, Achievement, Credit, Distinction, and High Distinction.

If your child would like to participate in any of these competitions, please visit the online Parent Payment System to make a direct payment to UNSW Global. The Parent Payment System is a simple and secure online payment service specifically for parents to purchase ICAS Assessments. The Parent Payment System will be the only form of payment accepted to register your child in the ICAS Assessments. The school will no longer be taking payments on behalf of the University of NSW.

Important: Please enter your child’s name accurately into the system as it will appear on their ICAS certificate. After payment is made via the Parent Payment System, you will receive an order confirmation email, please keep this for your records.

NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN AS THE PORTAL WILL BE CLOSED.

• Please note that refunds cannot be given if your child is away on the day.
• Students MUST sit the exam on the designated day. If this is not possible you must give AT LEAST 4 WEEKS NOTICE IN WRITING [PRIOR TO THE EXAMINATION DATE] TO MRS MCDONALD, so that application can be made to the University. All students will be given the opportunity to sit the exam regardless of clashing school activities.
•  ICAS will notify you when your child’s ICAS results are ready. You and your child can access the results once released via the Reports Portal using the TAP ID and pin found on the back of the ICAS certificate.

• share any personal information or data relating to children or students with any third parties (other than a third party whose services are necessary for servicing our products, e.g. print/distribution companies, medal engraving, etc.) except with the specific consent of the person, or his or her parent or guardian;
• use any personal information or data relating to children or students for marketing purposes. 

Janison may retain personal information and data relevant to a child for their future purposes or for research purposes by Janison for the duration of the school life cycle of the child. However, if you or your child at any time wish to have their personal information or data removed from our systems, they or you may opt out by simply contacting our Privacy Officer at privacy@janison.com.
